Georgia does one thing differently from most states: the validation decal goes in front of your GA number, not behind it. Here is how to display Georgia boat registration numbers and decals correctly.
Georgia boats and personal watercraft are registered with the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources Division. Your number must be:

Both sides, before the prefix. Georgia validation decals go on each side of the bow, in front of the GA prefix letters of the registration number.
Most other states put the sticker after the number, so if you've moved to Georgia, reposition it when you re-letter.

Georgia requires registration for motorized boats, personal watercraft and sailboats 12 feet or longer. Paddled canoes, kayaks and rowboats without mechanical propulsion, and boats used only on private ponds or lakes, are exempt.
